Original Medicare vs Medicare Advantage
Medicare Advantage is offered by private insurance companies as an alternative to Original Medicare. Original Medicare covers Part A and Part B, while Medicare Advantage plans cover all the same services in Part A and Part B but often include prescription drug coverage and extra benefits.

You can enroll in Medicare during your Initial Enrollment Period (IEP), which is a 7-month period that begins 3 months before turning 65 and ends 3 months after. You may also enroll sooner if you are receiving Social Security Disability, or have been diagnosed with ALS or End stage renal disease.
Am I able to adjust my Medicare coverage?
Yes, you can adjust your Medicare coverage during Special Enrollment Periods (SEPs) or during the Medicare Open Enrollment period. The Open Enrollment period is October 15 - December 7 each year. You can also make changes to your coverage if you experience certain life events.
